MCU (MULTI CERVICAL UNIT)

What is the MCU? The MCU (Multi Cervical Unit) is the most comprehensive cervical evaluation

and rehabilitation system available in the world. It provides for the assessment of range of motion

(flexion, extension, rotation, lateral flexion) with range limiters where applicable, isometric strength

(570 different positions), to 50 pounds.

a true measure of progress

For patients who have sustained motor vehicle, workers compensation or sports-related injuries including whiplash. The MCU is able to perform a cervical spine and whiplash evaluation and treatment program.

The MCU is a digitally interfaced system that allows for the real-time recording of cervical spine movement and isometric strength in more than 1,000 unique positions. The system also features a dynamic strengthening program for cervical spine conditions. The MCU provides an effective and  reliable evaluation and treatment of cervical injuries. Traditional treatment programs have relied upon rest, medication and manipulation practices. This limits any results as emphasis is not placed  upon the functional restoration of the neck muscles. The MCU enables the clinician to evaluate and restore strength and function of the cervical spine. The system has been used with remarkable success and has been featured on television news programs across the United States, Canada, and  Australia. How

How long does it take to complete an evaluation? Evaluations range from 15 minutes to 1 hour. The nature of the evaluation is the primary determinant as to the length of time spent testing. The report-writing aspect of the MCU takes 10 to 15 minutes, and you will receive a full color report illustrating your strengths and weaknesses.

How long does it take for a treatment? Treatment sessions generally range from 15 to 45 minutes in duration. Treatment frequency is usually 3 times per week for a period of 6 weeks. The treatment program is based upon the severity of the injury and progress in treatment.

Now that there is a Multi Cervical Unit for whiplash treatment in Flagstaff, patients no longer need to travel to Phoenix for this care.
